What is The Third Way?

Is there The Third Way a choice between Capitalism and Communism or Socialism? This is just a question. You may know more than me about the way to democratic socialism, because I spent 47 years in the Soviet Union dominated socialist Romania and only twenty in the USA.

There are more words to define this concept. Is it "the Socialism with a human face"? Certainly not, that was Ceausescu's Socialism.

There is a Chinese pragmatic way coming after the Soviet Union collapse. Here it is the Deng Xiaoping's famous quotation that says a lot to me:

"I don't care if it's a white cat or a black cat. It's a good cat so long as it catches mice."

So many ideas are coming from all directions including Great Britain with Tony Blair's "Centrist way" or even The United States democratic social programs to name a few.

Before going even further I suggest to take a deep breath and start reading my pages about "What is Socialism?" or better "What is the Communism?", "Romania at Historic Crossroads", or "The Escape - Confession of a Refugee"

  1. However, in American Literature Third Way is STRONGLY/DEEPLY associated with FASCISM !
The most emblematic personality of the 3rd way is conssidered to be Peron, the Dictator of Argentina.
The association, or better say, mixt of conceptions and partial political philosofic ideeas you're posting, are very confusing.
On one hand you're blessing capitalism and self initiative, but one the other hand you're cheering 3rd way, the ideology of Peron of other dictators who were strong oponents of capitalism and militants for a liberal socialism.
PLease read more about 3rd way.

  2. I did not know about this association with FASCISM. Actually I am defending the CAPITALISM.
The Capitalism is changing as we speak. This new trend is what is fascinating me. How do you perceive the changes?
